Amtsbrief · Beta

Photograph an official letter – understand it in your language.

Amtsbrief explains letters from authorities, doctors or insurers in plain language – in 25 languages. What does it say? What do I have to do? By when? Who do I contact?

Beta: let me know when it starts How it works

Not an authority. Independent help. 25 languages Help, not the decision – the official route remains.

How it works

Three steps – that’s all.

Photograph

Put the letter in front of your phone and take a photo. Several pages? Tap “Add another page”. Amtsbrief straightens the page automatically.

Understand

You get an explanation in your language: Who is writing? What is it about? What does it mean for you? Short sentences, no officialese.

Act

You see what you have to do, by when, and where to turn – for example the authority, a counselling centre or your doctor.

Important: Amtsbrief helps you understand the letter. Decisions are always made by the authority, the doctor or the insurer. Amtsbrief does not replace legal, tax or medical advice.

Which letters

Everything that “belongs to the authorities”.

Not only official decisions. Also doctors’ letters, medical reports and mail from insurers, banks, landlords or schools – everything that makes everyday life hard when you don’t understand it.

Languages

25 languages at launch.

The explanation comes in the language you understand best. So does the app itself. More languages will follow.

English

Flags are only a visual hint – a language is not a country. That is why the name of each language is always shown in the language itself.

Who it’s for

Counselling centres & associations

You support people with official mail? We are looking for beta partners: [email protected]

Trust

Your letters belong to you.

You decide

You can delete any letter at any time. You choose how long letters are kept.

No sharing

Your letters are not passed on to authorities, companies or other people.

No account needed

You can try Amtsbrief without registering.

Made in Vienna

Developed in Vienna by the start-up A2 Digital Works. Honestly: Amtsbrief is in development – the beta starts on the web first, then for Android and iPhone.
